A huge part of my summer this year was dedicated to a tour with Aurora Orchestra, performing Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring from memory. The project was - quite literally! - unforgettable and a real highlight of my career to date. Our performance at the BBC Proms received multiple 5-star reviews (including from the Times, the Guardian and the Evening Standard) and was hailed as one of the stand-out Proms of the 2023 Season. Our Helsinki concert will be available to watch online soon and I’ll give more details in a future newsletter.

In mid-September I enjoyed going on tour with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra alongside my husband Rupert, who is a member of the trombone section. It was the first time we’ve been booked for the same tour in our 10 years together, so it was great fun! I played in two concerts in Milan and Turin but the orchestra also performed in Merano, Rimini and Verona.

Huge thanks for the lovely messages I’ve received since the announcement of my appointment as Principal Trumpet with Britten Sinfonia. My first projects will be a recording of Barber’s Knoxville: Summer of 1915 (Oct), a concert at Milton Court with clarinet soloist Anthony McGill (Nov) and Handel’s Messiah, re-imagined by Mozart (Dec).
