I’m delighted to have joined the roster of Keynote Artist Management, following the closure of James Brown Management. I have moved to Keynote alongside my brilliant agent Jess Grime and we’re both excited for the new chapter ahead!

Upstairs at Ronnie’s

At the end of July I made my debut Upstairs at Ronnie’s alongside pianist Patrick Milne. We gave two 80 minute recitals (6.20pm & 9pm) and were joined for the evening by featured composers Charlotte Harding, Noah Max and Pete Walton. Thank you to everyone who came along - it was such a special night and we hugely appreciated the support of two such full and warm audiences. Summer Festivals: Ryedale and Presteigne

This summer I performed as a soloist at two UK music festivals: Ryedale Festival (North Yorkshire) in July, where I was an Artist-in-Residence, and the Presteigne Festival (Wales) in August. It was a real treat to take my whole family to these beautiful places and to enjoy playing such a great variety of music. A particular highlight of both festivals was Gabriel Jackson’s new flugelhorn concerto, Hargrove, the world premiere of which I performed with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. I’ll be giving the London premiere of the concerto on Thursday 12th November with Sinfonia Smith Square as part of the Wimbledon International Music Festival:

VOCES8 at the Rheingau Festival

In early August I spent my first nights away from my 9 month-old son, working with the renowned British vocal ensemble VOCES8. Due to a fire on the runway and a subsequent cancelled flight, my first night away from Joey was actually spent in Travelodge Staines instead of in a fancy hotel in Frankfurt..!! But we made it in time for our concert at the Rheingau Festival and performed a stunning programme - ‘Crown and Glory’ - featuring numerous anthems for brass, organ and choir. I’m also delighted to be collaborating with VOCES8 as a soloist and will share further details in my next newsletter…

LSO Japan: Mahler 2

At the end of September I’ll be travelling to Japan on tour with the London Symphony Orchestra. We’ll give two performances of Mahler’s Symphony No.2 (‘Resurrection’) with conductor Sir Antonio Pappano in Tokyo and Osaka. We also performed the piece last week in Ljubljana and will be doing two concerts at the Barbican in October (18th & 22nd).

Florence Fest

On Saturday 3rd October I’ll be performing at the inaugural Florence Fest. My close friend Olivia Jageurs founded this festival in memory of her daughter, Florence, and the concerts will be held at St Peter’s Church, Limpsfield (where Florence is buried, alongside some of the most important musicians of the 20th Century). There will be two concerts: an 11am Family Concert (‘The Little Nightingale’s Musical Adventure’) and a 5pm Festival Concert (where other performers will include singers Mark Padmore and Marta Fontanals-Simmons, cellist Abi Hyde-Smith, flautist Chloe Vincent and Olivia herself on the harp). All ticket sales and donations will benefit baby loss charity Abigail's Footsteps, which provides bereavement care and support, so please come and join us for this very special day of events.
